Smartthings Moisture Sensor Battery Life. I bought two of these sensors almost a year ago now. If you report to much, you will just be running the battery dead really faster.

You don’t need it to report but about 10 times a day. Get some zigbee repeater so that the signal can reach.

Ultimately you’ll pay a bit more for the aeotec multisensor 6, but with humidity sensors you really do get what you pay for. Your grass or plants will not die if it has low moisture for 2.5 hours.

The st moisture sensors come with a cr2 battery that fits so snugly in the plastic housing that it is almost impossible to remove. Likewise, the centralite water leak sensor is a fantastic smartthings compatible leak sensor.
